Let Us Kick the Tires of Your Policy

When you look to us for your Auto insurance, we’ll take the time to assess your risk tolerance to determine how much coverage you need to properly be protected while on the road. If you have teenagers in the house, for example, you have additional exposures and want to ensure your assets are properly protected. In addition, beyond the primary limits available on your Auto policy, we will look at how a Personal Umbrella Liability policy will extend your limits to fit your risk profile.

Our staff will also look at the amount of deductibles you can afford to carry for Comprehensive and Collision coverage, and discuss additional coverages that round out your plan. You may have a high-value automobile the needs specialized coverage, particularly if it’s a classic or antique.

Additionally, you may be eligible for premium discounts for theft alarms, gas cut-off switches, hood locks, steering locks, ignition cut-off switches and vehicle tracking devices.

Inside An Auto Policy

An Automobile policy typically includes:

  • Bodily Injury Liability: This coverage applies to injuries that you, or others covered under the policy, cause to someone else.
  • Property Damage Liability: This coverage applies to damage caused by you, or other covered persons, to the property of others.
  • Collision: This coverage takes care of repairing your vehicle when it is damaged in an accident.
  • Comprehensive (Other Than Collision): This coverage pays for loss due to your vehicle for events other than collision. Types of losses that fall under Comprehensive coverage would be: fire, theft, vandalism, water, windstorm, hail, earthquake or contact with an animal, such as a deer or bird.
  • Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury Coverage: This coverage pays you, or other persons covered, for injuries caused by someone who does not have insurance or does not have enough insurance to pay for your total loss.
  • Uninsured Motorist Property Damage: This coverage repairs your car when it is damaged by an identifiable, at-fault uninsured or underinsured motorist. If you have Collision coverage it will waive your deductible and repair your car.
  • Medical Payments: This coverage pays for treatment of injuries to the driver and passengers of the policyholder’s car whether or not you are at fault.
  • Rental Reimbursement and Towing: Pays for renting a car when your vehicle is disabled due to an accident and will tow your disabled car and offer some road side assistance. These two are optional coverage with limits and coverage varying between companies.
